Today, January 3, SpaceX carried out the first launch of the Falcon 9 rocket in 2023. The Transporter-6 mission is designed to launch 114 satellites into low Earth orbit at once. One of them is the Ukrainian nanosatellite PolyITAN-HP-30, created for the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence.
The launch of the rocket from the Space Launch Complex-40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral was successful. The first stage of the rocket used for the Transporter-6 mission has previously been used in several other missions: GPS III-3, Turksat 5A, Transporter-2, Intelsat G-33/G-34 and 10 Starlink. After separation, the Falcon 9 stage successfully landed at Landing Zone 1 (LZ-1) of Space Force Station at Cape Canaveral.

The PolyITAN-HP-30 satellite was created by scientists from the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. Igor Sikorsky for budgetary funds provided by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. It is assumed that after entering the planned orbit, the nanosatellite will ensure the implementation of a scientific experiment to study the efficiency of the operation of heat pipes of various designs as the main element of spacecraft thermal stabilization systems.
