One of the great advantages of Apple products is the ecosystem that exists between all devices. However, Windows, which was even a little “late” in this field, has been quickly catching the train. So there is an increasingly interesting marriage between Microsoft’s operating system and Android. As we already mentioned in Leak, thanks to an application that links to the mobile phone, we can see messages, notifications on the PC and even make and receive calls on Windows.
Windows: How to Make and Receive Calls on PC
As I mentioned above, all of this is possible thanks to the mobile link application that is available to be downloaded from the Microsoft Store.
When we download and install it, we can do many things, some of which we will mention below. This is because what matters now is explaining how you can make and receive calls on your Windows PC.
Having said that, and after having the application linked to the mobile phone installed, we must visit the calls section. At that point, the app will ask us to have bluetooth enabled on our smartphone and that it is unlocked. Once this is done then a window will appear that says to configure.
Already on our smartphone we received a warning like the one shown below. In practice, it asks us if we want to allow Link to Windows to find and determine the relative position of nearby devices and connect to them. Click Allow.
Then comes another request for permission. This time the smartphone is visible to other devices for 120 seconds.
Then on the computer a request for pairing with a PIN will appear. Choose Yes.
We will also receive a pairing request on the smartphone. Click on Pair.
However, there is one more thing that you have to accept on the smartphone. In particular, allow the Link to Windows app to access the cell phone’s call logs. Just hit allow.
From this moment on you will be able to receive and make calls on your PC.
Is it worth using this system?
First of all, let’s look at the possibilities that this link to the cell phone gives us, since it’s halfway there for us to understand whether or not it’s worth it.
After a pairing process that is quite quick and that we will cover in another special, the smartphone is quickly connected to the computer. Please note that it is necessary to have Bluetooth enabled for some functions such as calls.
The app
The application has a very interesting design and it is quite easy to find what you are looking for. That said, we have four tabs right from the start. They are messages, photos, applications and calls.
In the first one, and not surprisingly, we have access to all the messages that are available on the smartphone. In the second we can check the photographs. Next are the applications and finally the calls.
In fact, it’s all quite intuitive.
However, on the left side, we can quickly check the incoming notifications. In this way we do not lose any important information.
But the functions don’t stop there. In fact, there is another one that is deactivated and that is quite important. This is because it allows us to transfer data between the PC and the smartphone and vice versa.
To activate this functionality we have to go to settings using the cogwheel in the upper right corner, then to features and there we activate copy and paste between devices.
This is definitely something very useful!
Is it worth it or not to use this system?
This depends a lot on the type of user and whether or not they depend on the smartphone. This system is useful in those scenarios where we usually have our smartphone in our pocket and want to be on top of everything that is going on, or in cases where we receive a lot of messages and calls. This way, we can do everything on the PC, including answering the caller, without having to use our smartphone.
Now if for some reason you don’t use your smartphone that much and even dismiss it when you’re working or doing any other activity on the computer, then it’s not worth pairing.
