“Hypersonic” in the troops is becoming more and more.
So far, hypersonic weapons have been used in a real armed conflict only in isolated cases – and then, apparently, for test purposes. However, the capabilities of these systems are truly amazing: rushing at speeds exceeding the speed of sound by 5-10 times, these missiles are invulnerable to missile defense systems and are capable of penetrating the most fortified underground facilities. Russia is currently leading in this area, armed with missile systems “Dagger”, “Zircon” and “Avangard”.
Missiles “Zirkon”, in particular, belong to the category of sea-based missiles, and today their next carrier – the frigate “Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov” – entered combat service. Thus, the frigate has survived all the preliminary stages, and from today it officially performs combat missions.
“Admiral Gorshkov” belongs to the class of frigates of the project 22350, implying mainly missile weapons. The main weapons of this type of frigates are Caliber cruise missiles.

The construction of project 22350 frigates began in 2006, but today only two of their representatives are in service: the hero of this material, as well as the Admiral of the Fleet Katasonov. Another six frigates, according to open information, are either under construction or preparing for launching or for the start of factory sea trials.
