The French price of the RTX 4070 Ti has just been unveiled and was both a good and a bad surprise. By placing the price in its time, we can be satisfied, on the other hand Nvidia struggles to become affordable.

We finally have the price of the latest from Nvidia, the RTX 4070 Ti. Aiming to be more affordable than its sisters RTX 4080 and RTX 4090, it goes under 1000 euros. Finally some good news, even if it will be displayed at 899 euros from January 5th.
We will have to contextualize this price. On the one hand Nvidia says that it is impossible to lower the prices of graphics cards and on the other AMD which lowers its new models by 100 euros. The note is still salty for Nvidia, with the RTX 3080 launched at 719 euros. Or 180 euros less than the RTX 4070 Ti. Admittedly, this is a price that has never been reached. But we also know very well that the 4070 Ti will also not be less than 1000 euros for at least a few months.
There will be no Founders Edition model, only partner versions. This will not change much, because few models from Nvidia actually end up on the market.
Is it worth the RTX 4070 Ti?
At the moment we cannot talk about our performance tests. On the other hand, there is a certain trend on the Internet for little tricksters who have published their results. It can therefore be compared to an RX 7900 XT. This is at an introductory price of 999 euros. But for 100 euros more do we really get our money’s worth?
It seems that in terms of pure performance, AMD’s card takes the lead. The various benchmarks that appear on the Internet have the same trend. On the other hand in RayTracing this is where Nvidia seems to be doing better.
In the end we realize that the RTX 4070 Ti is so powerful that it probably compares more to an RTX 3090. At this time, it may justify its price. With such a significant jump in performance, the price increase is legitimate.
AMD remains the more affordable alternative in most cases. Especially since the Nvidia graphics card is unlikely to end up at its launch price soon.
