The 4K TV market has evolved quite a bit over the past year. At the top of the range, the big leader in OLED TVs, LG, has seen a new major competitor arrive: Samsung. To maintain its position as a cador, LG had to innovate on its flagship, the C range. Thus was born the best 55-inch 4K OLED TV of 2022 in terms of value for money. At the moment, it is sold in strong promotion on a single site: Rue du Commerce.
At JVTECH, we independently test new 4K TVs from all major brands. Highly anticipated, the LG 55 C2 has obviously passed between our fingers and before our eyes. To tell you the truth, I myself have probed, analyzed, dissected, measured this beautiful machine. Final rating: 5 out of 5 stars.
The other models of televisions having received the highest rating by our editorial staff or those of our colleagues often cost 2 or even 3 times more than this 55-inch C2 on sale. Launched at around €2000, the LG 55 C2 is currently sold for only €1199 at Rue du Commerce!

OLED Evo panel, 120 Hz, HDMI 2.1, powerful processor, ergonomic OS, classy design… what more could you ask for? Seeing all this for such a low price is something quite exceptional in this period of high inflation.
LG 55 C2: one of the best 4K TVs on the market, for PS5 gaming or a Netflix evening
If you want to go into the details of what the LG 55 C2 has in store, I can only encourage you to read my full test of the product. I warn you, it’s quite long, but if I did my job well, you should understand everything!
Whether you take the time to read my test or not, I will try to summarize in a few lines the main points of my remarks in this article. First of all, let’s go back to the basics: what is OLED and why is this technology so above the rest? By depriving themselves of a backlight panel, OLED screens are the only ones to offer perfect blacks. We are talking about infinite contrast. In use, it changes absolutely everything. The image is extremely precise and deep.
Yes, but now, this technology has 2 major counterparts. First, it is extremely complex to mass produce on large panels, so the price per inch is quite expensive. Hence the interest of promotions like the one currently underway. Second: the OLED had a brightness issue. In a very bright room, it was complicated to place an OLED television… before 2022.
Last year, LG pulled off a feat with the OLED Evo on the LG C2, which responds in quick succession to Samsung’s QD OLED. Thanks to their innovations, the two Korean firms offer OLED at around 1000 nits, which is really crazy. No more problem to enjoy the infinite contrasts with direct light.
In terms of gaming, because we know that our audience is fond of it, again, it’s hard to do better than the C2. Whether you’re on PS5 or Xbox Series X, the C2 is just perfect, if not more than perfect. VRR, ALLM, FreeSync Premium, 4 HDMI 2.1 ports, 120 Hz screen (so you can play in 4K 120 FPS), Perfect for PlayStation certified, official partnership between LG and Xbox… really, what more could you ask for? Nothing.
Of course, it is also a Smart TV, or connected TV in the language of Molière. LG’s operating system has evolved quite a bit in 2022 and, personally, it’s my favorite on the market. The C2’s processor is overpowered both for upscaling (switching lower-quality sources to 4K) and menu navigation (which becomes ultra fluid).
