Just before Christmas, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, the new installment in Rian Johnson’s crime series, launched on Netflix. After the streaming provider put around 450 million US dollars on the table for the two successors to Knives Out – Mord ist Familiensache (2019) almost two years ago, the expectations are likely to have been correspondingly high. The first numbers now show that viewers are definitely interested.
Successful debut for Glass Onion
According to a statement from Netflix, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery has already made it to number 3 of the platform’s most-watched film releases. Between December 23, 2022 and January 1, 2023, the sequel starring Daniel Craig has already been viewed more than 209.4 million hours. So far, only Red Notice (364.02 million) and Don’t Look Up (359.79 million) have been more successful here. However, the figures refer to a 28-day window. So Glass Onion still has some time.
