As announced, the zombie shooter “World War Z Aftermath” will find its way onto the current PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. In addition to technical improvements, the new “Horde Mode XL” mode is offered.
As the developers of Saber Interactive announced, the studio will revisit the cooperative zombie shooter World War Z: Aftermath and release it for the current generation consoles.
If you already own “World War Z: Aftermath” for the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, you can download the technically revised version for the current consoles in the form of a free next-gen upgrade. The improvements offered include optimized graphics, noticeably reduced loading times thanks to the SSD and, in the case of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, display in 4K and 60 frames per second.
Whether the whole thing also applies to the version for the Xbox Series S has not yet been revealed.
New Horde Mode XL mode is coming
Other new features on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S include the game mode called “Horde Mode XL”. The new mode is playfully based on its counterpart from the original “World War Z: Aftermath”. The biggest difference is that this time you have to deal with up to 1,000 undead at the same time in your fight for survival and put them in their place.
Also promised are new weapons or an optimized weapon progression system that will be made available in the update on all platforms for which World War Z: Aftermath is available. Rounding out today’s announcement was an official trailer that briefly explains the Horde Mode XL mode.
