IO Interactive is making it easier for newcomers to get into the Hitman series: Hitman 3 owners who haven’t purchased the previous entries in the franchise will get them for free. Also on January 26, the company will rename Hitman 3 to Hitman: World of Assassination – this is the name IOI gave to the restart of the trilogy.
Those who already own Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 should have accessed levels from both in Part 3. This approach caused some confusion, the new change should simplify things a bit.
If you own Hitman 3, you’ll get a free upgrade to Hitman: WOA. The company will remove the previous two games from the list, although they can still be downloaded again. Hitman: WOA, which will cost $70, will be the sole starting point for the development of the trilogy. Hitman 3 is currently priced at $60, but until January 5, the game is on sale on Steam for $21 (397₴). You can find deals on the PlayStation, Xbox, Switch stores, and more.
The new $30 Deluxe Pack gives you access to three expansions that include two extra levels, a pair of sniper cards, the Seven Deadly Sins expansion for Hitman 3, and more challenges. The Hitman 3 Deluxe Pack, Hitman 3 Seven Deadly Sins Collection, and Hitman 2 Expansion Access Pass will continue to be available separately on consoles and the Epic Games Store. The Deluxe Pack will have a proportional rating on Steam if you already own one or two of these DLCs.

“We are absolutely confident that these changes will have a huge positive impact on both existing and new players. It will also make our life much easier, there is no doubt about that. For many players, this will mean free content. For others, it will mean significantly lower DLC prices. New players who probably won’t read this message will have a much better experience buying Hitman games.”
In their blog post, IO Interactive notes that the Freelancer mode was key to the updates, as being able to access all levels from the entire trilogy is important for players to get the most out of it. The Freelancer mode was supposed to debut last year, but will also launch on January 26th.
