Asterix & Obelix: The Middle Empire is undoubtedly one of the most ambitious French films in the current landscape. It is certainly a good-natured comedy, but the means deployed are quite colossal, like a gigantic cast: here is a new preview with this new trailer.

If the franchise is as old as the world thanks to a first comic strip in 1959, it is not new either in the cinema world since the very first feature film dates from 1999: after five live-action films and others in animationPathe’s next project will be released on February 1st and for once… it will not skimp on the means.
Asterix & Obelix The Middle Empire intends to impress with a modern technique and a cast as long as your arm: Guillaume Canet (as Asterix, also directing), Gilles Lellouche (Obelix), Vincent Cassel (César), Marion Cotillard, Jonathan Cohen, José Garcia, Manu Payet, Audrey Lamy, Vincent Desagnat, McFly & Carlito, Ramzy Bedia, Jérôme Commandeur, Oreslan, Bigdlo and Oli, Pierre Richard… There will even be Angèle in the skin of Falbala, or the footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic!

With a budget of sixty-five million euros (of which a good part must be reserved for this impressive list of actors), Asterix & Obelix The Middle Empire stands out as one of the most expensive films in French cinema. A staggering sum, all the more so for a comedy that will bet without surprise on the good-natured spirit and a multitude of gags.
