In addition to having revealed that he had to overcome competition from other studios to receive the burden and honor of realizing the remake di Silent Hill 2Bloober Team recently discussed their main sources of inspiration for the restoration work on Konami’s horror IP.
One of the most remarkable remakes of recent years, especially if we stick to the horror genre, is undoubtedly that of Resident Evil 2, with which Capcom brought the unforgettable survival horror to a new generation of consoles. From there, the publisher would then announce the remakes of Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 4, with the latter expected to debut in March of this year.
Such painstaking work in restoring life to a work of the past could only inspire the other studios that engage in works of this kind. Bloober Team could not ignore what Capcom did in view of a remake of Silent Hill 2.
“I can’t speak for Konami, but we at Bloober Team [ci siamo ispirati] surely! The franchise of Resident Evil e Silent Hill have been considered sworn competitors for many years. This statement might be somewhat legit as both target very similar audiences of gamers. At the same time, we are aware of the resounding success of the Resident Evil 2 remake and we are aware that the game is considered a landmark on how to re-launch a game after a long hiatus. Our priority has always been to create an excellent game for our players and we will use all means available to do so,” said lead producer Maciej Głomb.
