Last fall, the presidents of Russia and Belarus decided to deploy a joint Russian-Belarusian group of troops on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, created in response to the growing threats to the Union State from its Western neighbors. And so, today Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Zhuk announced the readiness of the joint group of troops to defend the Union State.
According to the Deputy Minister of Defense, the main stage of preparation and combat coordination has been completed, but in the future the preparation of the regional group will be improved. One of the next stages of preparation, according to Zhuk, will be the Union Shield-2023 joint exercise, which is planned to be held at the end of the year.
