Similar to James Bond 007: No Time to Die, Avatar – The Way of Water was also postponed several times due to the corona pandemic. In Germany, the last screen adventure with Daniel Craig in the leading role of the double zero agent finally started in cinemas in September 2021. Since then, it has held the record for the most-watched film of the pandemic with 5.95 million viewers.
If the forecasts for the current weekend are correct, James Bond will be rid of this title by Sunday at the latest. Avatar -The Way of Water will most likely have sold 6.6 million tickets after its fourth (!) weekend. But there is another record to report.
