WhiteDove_101 is currently working on a graphical update mod for the original Duke Nukem 3D game. Duke Nukem 3HD promises to improve all of the game’s 2D sprites to deliver higher definition.
In more detail, Duke Nukem 3HD will include improvements to DN3D textures with smoother edges and higher resolution sprites. In addition, higher resolution normal, specular and glow maps for all sprites will be included in the game.
Duke Nukem 3HD will also include two variants. In the first option, there will be original textures in the best resolution. The second version will add normal, specular and glow maps to the original 8-bit sprites and textures.
While there is no release date yet, the modder plans to release a beta version of this mod at the end of January.
