After superstar Cristiano Ronaldo signed with al-Nasr FC, his ratings in EA’s soccer simulation have dropped.
From now on Cristiano Ronaldo plays for the Saudi Arabian club al-Nasr FC. For EA Sports, this was apparently the right time to reduce the values of the five-time world footballer in “FIFA 23”. The overall rating is now 88 instead of 90.
Not only the general rating, but also specific values are lower: His dribbling is only 81 instead of 84 and his endurance is 70 instead of 74.
Not in FUT for now
However, the downgrade is limited to Kick-Off mode and Career mode for now. The old value still applies in FIFA ULTIMATE TEAM.
With the release of “FIFA 23” Ronaldo had already slipped three places backwards. In the offshoot of the previous year he still had a total of 91 points, i.e. one point more. Now it has reached its worst value since 2007.
The 37-year-old will be able to cope: In Saudi Arabia, the football star earns an estimated 200 million euros per season – including advertising revenue and image rights. At Manchester United it would have been “only” 14,976,000 euros this season.
With his permanent rival Lionel Messi, everything remains the same. The Argentine’s overall score is still 91 points.

For many players, the lowering of Ronaldo’s rating was long overdue. Some say the ’88 rating is still too high for the aging goalscorer. In any case, a further downgrade is to be expected in the future, at the latest in “EA Sports FC”. That’s what the “FIFA” series will be called from next year.
