A man bought one AirPort Time Capsule in Germany and was surprised when he found several items stored by the previous owner. The purchase of the used product cost US$ 15 (R$ 78) and with the content found, he started to show it to his followers on TikTok.
In case you didn’t know, this is a router launched by Apple that has already been discontinued. The apple product could also be used to store various files on a Mac connected to the network, as it has an internal hard drive. The device even suffered from problems that led users to lose their backups due to a design flaw.
As for the digital items found by the user ‘@dankeunextgay’, the variety is quite wide and the stored content includes backups divided into separate folders by years ranging from 1980 to 2010. The data, in turn, includes information on audits, flights, card numbers and even pornography.
The user also found data about the former owner’s insurance, which is sensitive information about his life. After talking about the content found in two videos, the man made a new post, where he was uncomfortable in possession of third-party items. So he said he was looking for someone in the family to return the Time Capsule.
If the previous owner has died, the product may have been donated or sold along with other belongings. This would help explain why they didn’t erase the important data stored on the item.
Still on time capsules, Spotify recently launched a feature that allows you to create a playlist that can only be heard in 2024.
