Military and blogger Yuri Gudymenko created a petition on the President’s website demanding mandatory labeling of goods from companies that continue to work in Russia and thereby support aggression against Ukraine.
It is noted that for the military operations that Russia has been conducting against Ukraine since 2014, considerable financial resources are needed. And many international companies that continue to work in Russia, thereby support the financially criminal Putin’s regime.
“An important component of such an economic viability of the criminal regime is its internal market, supported, among other things, by leading representatives of international business, providing the aggressor state with access to investments, tax payments, as well as consumer goods that guarantee social stability among the Russian population,” the petition says. .
Even after the start of a full-scale war in February 2022, “about 1,000 international business representatives still maintain cooperation with Russia and its consumers who support the war crimes committed by the invaders in Ukraine.”
The petition mentions a number of well-known Western brands that continue to work in Russia, pay taxes there, which go, among other things, to finance the war and the destruction of Ukraine. Among them are Alfred Ritter, Avon, Barilla, Bonduelle, Colgate-Palmolive, HiPP, Hochland, Johnson&Johnson, Lactalis, Mondelez International, Nestlé, Perfetti Van Melle, Procter & Gamble, Red Bull, Société Bic, Unilever, Yves Rocher and others.

“Despite continued cooperation with the aggressor state, all of the above companies still remain leaders in their segments of the Ukrainian market and are still actively represented on the shelves of retail chains,” the author of the petition notes.
In this regard, Yury Gudymenko proposes to adopt legislative norms that will oblige to appropriately label goods and brands that continue to cooperate with a terrorist state.
“This marking should clearly and unambiguously convey to the Ukrainian consumer the information that the manufacturer of a particular product continues to operate on the Russian market and supports Russian aggression against Ukraine and should be applied to the front side of the product in red capital letters,” the author suggests. .
At the time of writing, the petition was supported by more than 7,000 Ukrainians. Recall that in order to consider the petition, it is necessary that it collects at least 25 thousand signatures.
