After taking a look at 10 minutes of gameplay of the action game, director Masakazu Hirayama returns to us to talk in detail about the types of weapons and armor that we will be able to use in Wo Long: Fallen Dynastythe new title signed by Team Ninja.
The director talked about the studio that Team Ninja first led to the creation of Wo Long’s weapons, and then discussed their concrete use within the game.
“We chose the weapons that were better suited to Chinese martial arts. The movements for each type of weapon were based on movements performed by real martial artists who specialized in these weapons. So we tweaked things here and there to make it feel good in an action game.
If you master the combos of a weapon type and get used to the martial arts of your weapon, you should be able to finish the game without changing it. However, from a design point of view, we advise the player to switch weapons based on the enemy’s attack patterns. By examining the weapons you’ve collected and assigning their status effects to your favorite weapon, you can build weapons that specialize in all sorts of thingsand they can deal big damage or focus on healing.” Hirayama also confirmed that they will get boss weaponswhich will allow you to make unique attack animations based on the defeated enemy.
In the game there will be 40 armor setseach with a set of bonuses, and is also confirmed the transmog which will allow you to transfer certain parameters into a specific piece of armor. “Fans of the Three Kingdoms period can also look forward to the iconic weapons and armor of their favorite warlords. For example, you can play as Guan Yu wearing his armor as you upgrade the Azure Dragon Crescent Glaive to make it super strong”.
Wo Long Fallen Dynasty will be released on March 3rd on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One (available on day one on Xbox Game Pass). Following the launch, the game will be enriched with full-bodied DLC.
