If few people doubt the success of Starfield from Bethesda, then many players are skeptical about the game Redfall, studio Arkane (part of Bethesda, Zenimax). According to the trailers, the project does not look like an unequivocal AAA hit, and many players still cannot figure out what the game will be like.
Redfall development leads Harvey Smith and Ricardo Baer spoke with Gamesradar and tried to provide answers to journalists’ questions. In particular, they discussed the comparison of Redfall with other projects. Many players believe that the game will be similar to Left 4 Dead, but development leaders think otherwise. Here is what Ricardo Baer had to say about what a game is:
It can be understood that someone came to this conclusion [сравнения с Left 4 Dead]. We also have four playable characters, you can play together and you go against the undead. But in terms of how you play and experience Redfall, it’s nothing like similar games. [Left 4 Dead]. Redfall is more like Far Cry.
He was echoed in an interview by Harvey Smith, who compared Redfall to Far Cry and STALKER:
Sometimes Redfall feels like what you would get if you mixed Arkane’s creative values with Far Cry 2 or STALKER.
Recall that Redfall does not yet have a release date, the game was originally planned to be released in the summer of 2022, but now its release window is the first half of 2023. The game will be released on Xbox Series X | S and PC, straight to Game Pass.
