Everything, as the journalists claimed.
The other day it became known that McDonald’s, a chain of fast food restaurants/service restaurants, is leaving the Kazakhstani market, citing supply problems. Earlier, journalists specified that the McDonald’s network in Kazakhstan formally stopped working back in November due to a ban on the company’s head office for purchasing raw materials in Russia, but now this information has been officially confirmed by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
As the press service of the ministry clarified, the McDonald’s restaurant chain in Kazakhstan was provided with Russian-made meat and semi-finished products. After McDonald’s left Russia and the company’s head office imposed a ban on the supply of Russian products to other regions, the Kazakh network had problems with deliveries. Local manufacturers did not have time to bring their products in line with the company’s requirements, and the audit of Kazakh enterprises scheduled for early 2023 did not take place due to the departure of the American corporation.
According to official information, the former McDonald’s outlets in Kazakhstan will soon open under a new name. Who will supply them with food products has not yet been specified.

Recall that the first McDonald’s opened in Kazakhstan in 2016, and at the time of the termination of its activities, there were more than two dozen outlets in the country. In Russia and Belarus, where McDonald’s also left, the company’s former restaurants opened under the Vkusno – and that’s the point brand.
