For Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One have a lot of settings that not even all experienced players know about. Microsoft has been releasing regular firmware updates for consoles for several years, from time to time introducing interesting features for the convenience of players. Since not all players regularly follow Xbox news, and some are just now joining the community by purchasing Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S, we decided to compile a material in which we collected several useful settings that are on Xbox, but many do not know about them .
Location of achievements
By default, achievements on Xbox are displayed in the bottom middle, roughly in the same place where subtitles are found in most games. The display of achievements can be moved to a more convenient position, for example, in the upper right corner. For this:
Call the Guide menu (by pressing the button with the Xbox icon on the controller) and in the profile selection section, go to “Settings”. Next, “Preferences” – “Notifications”. Next, “Default notification position”. Specify a convenient area of \u200b\u200bthe screen for displaying achievement notifications and click Done.
Changing the Xbox Button Brightness – Console and Controller
By default, the Xbox button on the controller and the console itself glows bright white. This is not very convenient, especially when playing at night. You can make it less bright or completely turn off the glow. Here’s how it’s done:
Go to “Settings” Next, select “Accessibility” in the left menu and go to “Night mode”Here you can change the “Brightness of the backlight on the gamepad” and “Brightness of the power button”. Please note that you can separately adjust the brightness of the default backlight and night mode.
Sound settings
A few more important parameters that players may not know about are in the sound settings. In particular, here you can turn off the console startup sound, which is often useful. Here you can also set the TV to mute when you connect a headset or turn off notification sounds if they interfere with the game.
All of the above options can be configured in one section:
Go to “Settings” Next, select “General” in the left menu and go to “Volume and Audio Outputs” Go to “Advanced Settings”. Here you can configure the desired parameters and options.
