Rapper and producer 50 Cent (real name Curtis James Jackson III) has revealed that he is working on a TV series adaptation of 8 Mile. The project also involves rapper Eminem, who played the main role in the original.
50 Cent shared the news in a conversation with radio host Big Boy on his YouTube channel. According to the producer, he is adapting the tape for the small screen in order to acquaint the younger generation with the legacy of Eminem. The rappers have been friends since the early 2000s and have collaborated many times.
Released in 2002, Curtis Hanson’s film is a lightly fictionalized account of Eminem’s life as an aspiring musician. In the story, the main character, a white rapper, is trying to win the respect of the Detroit rap community. On account of the picture – “Oscar” for the best song.
Recently, 50 Cent has been actively producing various television and film projects (The Black Mafia Family, The Oath). He recently teamed up with Eli Roth to work on three horror films at once.
