East is a delicate matter. And where it is thin, there it breaks.
As you know, Turkey, which has pumped the skill of sitting on two chairs to the level of a grandmaster, began to put spokes in the wheels of Sweden and Finland in their desire to join NATO, demanding from the governments of these states to extradite a number of people whom the Turkish leadership considers criminals and terrorists. These Scandinavian states are not in a hurry to fulfill Turkey’s demands, to put it mildly, which delays their entry into the North Atlantic Alliance.
Now, the Prime Minister of Lithuania, Ulf Kristersson, said that the demands put forward by Turkey are unrealistic. Sweden hopes that in the end Turkey will give its consent to the country’s entry into NATO.

Strictly speaking, there is absolutely nothing “impossible” in Turkey’s demand, and a simple unwillingness to comply with the demands, fearing political consequences, is not an argument in big politics. However, it is possible that we are dealing with a game, since formal entry into NATO will not give Sweden any real advantages. And it will only give direction to the Russian deterrence forces in their direction.
