German developer Lich Again Games has unveiled the first trailer for its upcoming co-op horror game Phylakterion, due out in the first quarter of 2023. The gameplay trailer contains an overview of locations, tools, ghosts and game stages of the game, in which any object can become a ghost.
In Phylakterion, you and your friends take control of a team of ghost hunters (unless, of course, you dare to go it alone). You will enter haunted places to find a possessed item. However, always be on the lookout, because the entity that owns it does not like your presence and will try to stop you. Various tools will help you and your team find the possessed item and find out what kind of creature it is. Then use the correct rituals to destroy the vessel before the entity finds you.
Phylakterion also features an “Afterlife” mode: players who die while searching for a haunted item can still participate in the game and give clues to their living teammates.
Early Access Features:
Exorcism in 3 steps: find, identify, destroy Any object can be haunted. Play against the entity and the item it’s chasing. The entity will hunt you, and its vessel has its own ways of hiding from you. Afterlife: You can die if you’re not careful, but you can still be useful to your team. Unique Essences: Be vigilant and adjust your strategy according to the situation, as each entity behaves differently. 7 different tools: You will need ghost hunting equipment such as Geiger counters, cameras or notebooks to find the ship, identify the ghost owning it and destroy it. 1-4 players: play alone or with friends.
