Teacher “Manchester City” Pep Guardiola commented on the crushing victory over Chelsea (4:0) in the 1/32 finals of the FA Cup:
“We played a very tense game against a top team. Made it to the next round of the FA Cup. Glad we’re in the game.
I feel like we have incredible people and players. When we have this thirst for the game, we do not give the opponent time to think about something. They didn’t have time. When this happens, it’s because we’re fine.
As a coach, you understand that everything will fall if we do not take the necessary actions. As a coach, I understand this, and I can show the players the video and say: “This is what you need to do.”
The FA Cup is a competition that I love. All over the world it is recognized as the strongest national tournament. I always remember watching the FA Cup final as a little boy in Catalonia and feeling the importance of the event. Everything was so unusual, and it always stayed with me.
When we won the FA Cup in 2019 it was one of my best memories of my time here at City. We want to win the cup this season as well. Trust me, we will do our best to make our dream come true.”
