Video games are not easy creative products to develop. Instead of getting simpler and faster, technological developments on the platform side actually make it more complex and expensive. That along with the more powerful machines that can run it, gamers’ expectations are actually increasing. No longer just running and jumping, gamers now want games with details that resemble the real world, complex gameplay, touching stories, and of course fantastic music. Situations that make the development process take longer and longer.
This situation makes an interesting statement from the well-known gaming journalist from Bloomberg – Jason Schreier surfaced. Schreier said that the video game production process cycle was getting longer and longer to the point that developers were now no longer working on games for the Playstation 5 but for the next generation, Playstation 6. Schreier also stated that if a studio with a big budget started working on a game project the latest at this time, it is likely that he will indeed be targeted for the next-gen. Unfortunately, he didn’t share more details about these games.
Fun fact: Video game production cycles have gotten so long that if a big-budget game studio started working on a brand new project today, it would likely be for the PlayStation 6

With the AAA game development process that usually takes more than 4 years, this is indeed an unavoidable situation. Unfortunately, there is also no further discussion about the speculation that the developers are doing to estimate the performance of the Playstation 6 later. What do you think of this one situation?
