Fortnite goes down: Epic Games announces maintenance work on the Battle Royale shooter for today. On the Short message service Twitter the developers give the first information – and name 10 a.m. as the start time of the maintenance. Fortnite will therefore no longer be playable at the usual downtime time. During maintenance, neither logins nor game joins are possible. In all likelihood, the matchmaking system will be switched off half an hour earlier. At around 9:30 a.m. you will take part in your last game before the server downtime. After that it’s over.

Unlike previous downtimes, this time there is an approximate duration: As reported by Epic Games, the maintenance should take around an hour. If everything goes according to plan, the servers will return around 11 am. Around noon you can make the Fortnite island unsafe again. As part of the maintenance, Epic Games is installing a new update. It is not yet clear whether today’s patch will contain new content.
