January 10th, 2023 at 12:41 p.m. by Andreas Link – A packaging design for the Geforce RTX 4070 is making the rounds that indicate a Founders Edition. This also increases the chances that you can actually buy the card at the RRP.
While there was no Founders Edition of the Geforce RTX 4070 Ti, Nvidia seems to be planning a reference model for the Geforce RTX 4070. Its packaging has now been leaked by Youtuber Red Gaming Tech. A card was reportedly not in the box, but a reference design also guarantees that the card will be available at MSRP. Nvidia had set an RRP of 899 euros for the Geforce RTX 4070 Ti, which is 200 euros less than the Geforce RTX 4080 12 GB, which is identical in construction and has been withdrawn. Nvidia does not have a Founders Edition, but there are some inexpensive reference designs.
Additional information comes from Twitter user kopite7kimi that the Geforce RTX 4070 and the Geforce RTX 4060 Ti may use the same cooling design. A release of the two graphics cards is expected for the first half of 2023. Series production is said to start in February.

The data on the packaging confirms that the card requires a 2×8 pin to 1×16 pin adapter and is 112mm wide. The Geforce RTX 4080 is 140 mm wide for comparison. The heat sink should therefore be much more compact.

It also has to cool less: According to the latest information, the built-in AD104-250 uses a total of 5,888 shader ALUs (23.33 percent less than the RTX 4070 Ti), which are supported by 12 GiB of type GDDR6X memory on a 192-bit wide interface will. Around 200 to 250 watts TBP are expected.
