After the turn of the year, our rumor mill is back with some exciting topics. While an Assassin’s Creed leak or possible advertising in the Xbox Game Pass played a role at the end of last year, this week the focus is on a new shooter project from Sony or a reboot of the Fable reboot. Of course there will also be a detailed rumor mill video in 2023 for the weekly rumours, leaks and other reports from the video game industry. As always, you can find this linked below in the article.
SciFi shooter in development at Sony?
A clip has appeared in the gaming forum “IconEra” which apparently shows early gameplay of a sci-fi shooter. The user who posted the video in the forum states that this should be a single-player shooter with role-playing elements.
Team XDev, which is based at Sony and works with third-party studios, is said to be behind the project. The People Can Fly studio, known for titles like Gears of War: Judgment or Bulletstorm, could also be on board. Finally, the term “Red” can be seen in the clip, which could refer to a project by the studio with that same code name. The game is said to be based on Unreal Engine 5.
Problems with Fable reboot?
In 2020, it was announced that Playground Games was working on a reboot of the Fable series. But currently the development is anything but rosy. At least that’s based on a 4chan post detailing numerous issues with the game’s engine.
