“The King of Fighters XV” starts into the second season. It is heralded with an update and a new character that enriches the fights.
SNK has announced the first DLC character for Season 2 of The King of Fighters XV. Shingo Yabuki, as it is called, is scheduled to be released on January 17, 2023, along with a patch that will include improvements for all characters.
Shingo is described as a young man who was amazed by Kyo Kusanagi’s strength and almost forced him to become his martial arts master. However, Kyo sees Shingo as his passive assistant and treats him accordingly.
“Lately Shingo has gained Kyo’s recognition and seems to be making steady progress as a fighter, albeit gradually. His easy-going way of life gives him a personality that is treasured by many,” the creators said in today’s announcement.
More characters confirmed
In addition to Shingo, other DLC characters will become part of The King of Fighters XV in 2023. Kim Kaphwan is slated to be deployed in the spring, while Sylvie Paula Paula, Najd, and two unannounced characters are scheduled to join the fray in the summer of 2023.
At the same time, players can invest money in the new season: A special Fighter Pass is available for purchase. It includes all six Season 2 DLC characters, including Shingo Yabuki.
Also, on January 17, 2023, 15 staff roll songs from previous major titles of “KOF” will be added to “The King of Fighters XV” DJ Station for free. With this, players can enrich the background music of their fights with their favorite songs. More songs will be added in the future.
