Many are still waiting in WoW: Dragonflight for their set bonuses, which they would like to have already produced via the Inspiration Catalyst. But the feature is still a long time coming. Did the developers take too much time with the Inspiration Catalyst?
In WoW: Dragonflight, the Race to World First in the first raid Vault of Incarnations ended before Christmas and meanwhile we are just before the 5th Raid ID of Dragonflight as of 1/10/23. Many guilds have already sent the final boss Raszageth on the boards or will do so in the next week.
With the first raid of Dragonflight, players were once again given the opportunity to collect set items. What many miss is the Creation Catalyst. Similar to Shadowlands Seasons 3 and 4 with the Creation Catalyst, players will have the ability to convert a Season 1 item from M+ Dungeons, Ranked PvP, World Bosses, the Grand Vault, or Raid into a set item of their choice. The feature is scheduled to be activated on January 25, with WoWhead already assuming January 18. The Creation Catalyst serves as a kind of bad luck protection, but comes too late for many.

Over the past few weeks, complaints have surfaced on Twitter, Reddit, and the official WoW forums about the waiting time for the Inspiration Catalyst being too long. Also in Shadowlands Season 3, players had to wait a few weeks before they could craft set items. At the time, this innovation was still considered revolutionary. In season 4 it went a little faster, the only bottleneck then was the bravery points that were needed for the conversion. Players who have had bad luck with their set parts already want the feature for their main and secondary characters.

The ID starting January 25 not only implements the Inspiration Catalyst, but also unlocks the two-week ban on Spark of Genius, which can be used to craft powerful items. The expansion that gives players so much freedom is yet to come with the freedom to get better gear. At this time we don’t know exactly how the Creation Catalyst will work in Dragonflight. You may need to participate in weekly activities for set conversion. So far, however, these are only guesses.
