Faruk Kocabaş has been appointed as the CEO of Mediamarkt Turkey. Faruk Kocabaş will take over the CEO position from Yenal Gökyıldırım as of February 1.
Faruk Kocabaş Became the CEO of MediaMarkt Turkey
Faruk Kocabaş, who joined the MediaMarkt Turkey family as a Member of the Executive Board (CPO) in Charge of Purchasing in 2016 and then continued his duty as the Executive Committee Member in Charge of Trade (CCO), made great contributions to the brand’s market leadership journey. Faruk Kocabaş was responsible for strategy, category management, purchasing, pricing, after-sales operations, logistics, demand planning and commercial marketing at MediaMarkt Turkey.
Throughout his long career in international companies, he has always accomplished successful works and in Turkey, Türk Philips Ticaret A.Ş. and TP Vision Elektronik Ticaret A.Ş., Philips Consumer Lifestyle BV and MMD Monitors & Displays Nederland BV in the Netherlands. Faruk Kocabaş is also a Board Member of the Chain Stores Association.
A period of success
Yenal Gökyıldırım, Chairman of the Executive Board of MediaMarkt Turkey and Global Executive Board Member and Holding COO in charge of 12 different countries in MediaMartSaturn Retail Group, managed the restructuring of country organizations in his 8-year Mediamakt journey full of success, and designed the company’s growth and transformation strategy. Yenal Gökyıldırım, the founder of the vision of being the most preferred multi-channel electronics retailer in Turkey and creating a successful transformation with the leadership team he established in the effective implementation of this vision, is the market leader in its sector.
He served as the CEO of MediaMarkt Turkey for a long time in the leadership team.
He hands it over to Faruk Kocabaş.
