As announced at the end of last year, the time has come for the final closure of Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier, the free title set in the universe of the famous JRPG.
The team of Square Enix, acknowledging the results below expectations, has in fact decided to conclude the proposed experiment with free to play. The battle royale for mobile devices Android e iOSwe remember, allowed fans to face each other in a heart-pounding battle in the streets of Midgar.
Starting today – Wednesday 11 January 2023 – Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier therefore officially closes its doors. Coinciding with today’s date, Square Enix ceases to support mobile production, which loses its reference servers. For the occasion, the development team of Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier has entrusted to its official Twitter account a last message of thanks addressed to the community that has populated the streets of Midgar up to now.
With the twitter available at the bottom of this news, the Japanese experiment is officially closed. Having survived for just over a year, Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier had welcomed Season 3 during the summer of 2022, while at the end of 2021 it had celebrated the passing of 2 million downloads.
