Currently, Apple is in full development of the new iPhone 15 series and Apple Watch Series 9, both of which are expected to be released in September of this year.
According to the latest rumors, the new 15 Ultra smartphone may finally integrate the long-awaited periscope sensor with improved optical zoom, while the smartwatch may bring the new MicroLED technology on the screen.

Apple will update the rear camera of the iPhone 15 Ultra with a new periscope sensor [email protected]
In September of this year, as usual, Apple will launch the new series of iPhone 15 smartphones that this time may include an Ultra model. This will be the most advanced terminal in the family and will have exclusive features.
One of them will be a periscope sensor, the first integrated into an Apple smartphone. This has been a request for a long time by users, not to mention that several of the Cupertino company’s direct competitors already integrate this component.
But it seems that finally, Apple will include the aforementioned periscope sensor that will have a 6x optical zoom. This is a significant improvement over the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which has only 3x optical zoom.
Still, Apple will continue behind some models of the Android universe. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, which will be revealed on February 1, will feature a periscope sensor with a resolution of 10 megapixels and 10x optical zoom in its rear camera configuration.
Of course, Apple should improve the photographic capabilities of its Ultra model by adding features and software to better capture any moment that should be recorded for posterity.
Apple Watch Series 9 with new MicroLED technology
Other Apple-related news reports that the company is also preparing a novelty for its smartwatch. According to rumors, Cupertino is working on a custom screen design that will be based on MicroLED technology.
And the first equipment to take advantage of this novelty will be the smartwatch family, quite possibly the next 9 series that should arrive in September of this year. The information arrives through the well-known journalist Mark Gurman who also adds that this project has been in development for five years.
Remember that Apple has Samsung, BOE and LG as screen suppliers. But for this new custom design you can contract with a different company. Unfortunately, no further details have been provided about what we can expect to see on the next Apple smartwatch.
