Peugeot was crowned as the leader of the car market in 2022 in Portugal. And the latest Peugeot 2008 and 208 are the best selling vehicles in our country.
In these first days of the year, the brand revealed the Peugeot Inception Concept. This is a vehicle that intends to open a new era, and show the brand’s vision for the future of electric vehicles.
This Peugeot Inception Concept arrives with a design released by Matthias Hossan, and the first highlight goes to the new generation of the iCockpit with the Hypersquare control system. We also have an innovative Skyspace panoramic glass concept.
Peugeot Inception Concept based on Peugeot from 2025
We must bear in mind that, for now, this is just a concept. But in its statement, Peugeot states that this will inspire the brand’s products, even in the most compact models, from 2025.
“PEUGEOT is committed to electrifying its range. In 2023, 100% of the vehicles in the range will be electrified and, in the next two years, five new 100% electric models will be launched”, begins by saying Linda Jackson, CEO of Peugeot.
The executive also states that the objective is to “make PEUGEOT the leading electric brand in Europe in 2030”. And the objective of this concept is to highlight a passenger compartment that offers original technological perspectives, leading us to an exclusive automotive experience.
The brand claims that Peugeot Inception Concept was designed on one of the four future “BEV-by-design” platforms of the Stellantis group. This is a new range of platforms arriving from 2023.
The highlights of this Peugeot approach
The STLA Large platform on which the Peugeot Inception Concept is based has the silhouette of a low (1.34 m) and efficient saloon, measuring 5.00 m in length. This measure was deliberately chosen to highlight the many innovations in this manifesto. The platform is also part of Peugeot’s new formal language, which preserves the brand’s DNA.
The new “BEV-by-design” native electric platforms they will also introduce technological modules powered by artificial intelligence: STLA Brain, STLA SmartCockpit and STLA Autodrive. The 100% electric Peugeot Inception Concept is equipped with 800 V technology. Its 100 kWh battery allows you to travel 800 km on a single full charge, that is, the distance from Paris to Marseille or from Brussels to Berlin. Its consumption is remarkable, 12.5 kWh per 100 km. The battery charges the equivalent of 30 km of autonomy in one minute, or 150 km in five minutes. The Peugeot Inception Concept can be charged via induction, simplifying this step due to the absence of a cable.
Two compact electric motors, one at the front and one at the rear, make the Peugeot Inception Concept a four-wheel drive vehicle for the excellence of fully controlled dynamic driving. Combined power is close to 680 hp (500 kW). Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in less than 3 seconds. The excellence of the technology on board the family of platforms is reflected in the Peugeot Inception Concept through the Steer-by-Wire. Eliminates the flywheel as we’ve known it for decades, in favor of a control Hypersquare where the mechanical connections disappear by exchange with digital electrical controls.
These are just some of the highlights that Peugeot brings with this product, and you can find out all the details on the brand’s own page for this purpose. The future looks even more ‘feline’ for Peugeot.
