Apparently, they are waiting for how Russia will respond to the supply of “Leopards” from Poland.
German foreign policy is now more and more reminiscent of the expression “both want and prick”: you need to curry favor with the United States, and you don’t want to completely destroy all relations with Russia, which you still have to restore someday anyway. Therefore, in terms of sending weapons systems to Ukraine, the German leadership is still showing restraint. Today, for example, the German government announced that they were ready to send Marder infantry fighting vehicles to Ukrainian troops, but so far they have not discussed the supply of German tanks, including Leopard 2.
It is worth noting that the first country to send NATO-style tanks to Ukraine – the same Leopards – will be Poland, as President Andrzej Duda said yesterday during a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart. In total, Poland at this stage will supply Ukraine with a company of Leopard tanks, but a NATO company usually includes 14 vehicles.

Western countries are not yet in a hurry to replace the stocks of armored vehicles lost by Ukraine with NATO models, since this will indicate a new round of escalation of the conflict, and is also fraught with anti-advertising of this armored vehicles, caused by the lack of conditions for its maintenance and repair, as well as problems with logistics and a complete lack of standardization. However, the situation is desperate and requires appropriate measures, when few people think about efficiency.
