Dead Space Remake: EA Motive originally wanted to remove the pause in the game

“In horror games you can pause and you can have a moment of safety. You can take a deep breath. I think you get a respite from that and it deflates the tension a bit. But with persistent online games you play with dozens of other people and you can’t pause everyone’s game removing this feature can make horror games much more impactful.
