Among the many innovations announced by IO Interactive with the name change of Hitman World of Assassination there will be Freelancer, a brand new mode which promises to offer more freedom to Agent 47’s followers.
In illustrating the contents of Hitman Freelancer, the Danish developers describe it as an experience that breaks away from Agent 47’s usual activities to offer players a greater control over the missions to be carried out.
In fact, users will have to build and maintain their own arsenal, and then decide which equipment to use in the missions. Strategic planning of challenges will be a fundamental component of Hitman Freelancer, underlines IOI specifying how “this mode is different from the original game in many aspects. There are no predetermined Mission Stories with scheduled custom kills, although the latter are always possible. In Hitman Freelancer, takedowns are an emerging construct of systemic gameplay mechanics and a reflection of the player’s foresight and creativity.”
Hitman Freelancer roguelike mode is scheduled to launch in January 26th together with the free update that will bring all the changes and the rich content package that will inaugurate the new phase of Hitman World of Assassination.
