Series Grand Touring known for her attention to detail and meticulous approach to car development and simulation, but few can imagine how long it takes to work on a single car.
According to the CEO Polyphony Digital and series producer Kazunori Yamautawhile working on Gran Turismo 7 the creation of the final version of one car with all its features takes up to 270 days.
Yamauchi notes that with the current size of the team and the established production process, developers manage to create about 60 cars from scratch. He also stated that he is aware of the desire of some fans to see certain iconic cars in the seventh part of the series, such as Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 4, however, Polyphony Digital will not be able to meet all such requests. Yamauchi asks fans to treat the developers with understanding if their favorite cars do not get a virtual incarnation.
Previously, the studio celebrated the 25th anniversary of the iconic racing franchise, noting that the games in the series have sold 90 million copies. The authors also stressed that they have no plans to release Gran Turismo 7 on PC. At the moment, work is underway on the film adaptation of the series, the first frames of which can be seen in a small teaser.
