An advanced reader
This new reader brings good changes, starting with its screen. The 6-inch diagonal is retained, however, the screen has almost three times as many pixels, going from 167 PPI to 300 PPI. The previous model offered a resolution of 600 × 800 pixels, now the new Kindle displays a resolution of 1080 × 1440 pixels, the same as the Paperwhite. As a result, the content is much sharper. The screen also has a dark mode and an adjustable front light.
Amazon can boast of offering a very compact e-reader with 15.8 centimeters high and 10.9 cm wide, and only 157.8 g. It is also lighter since the old model was 174 g. Its design ensures a good grip. It will also be easily transportable to accompany you during your journeys, in transport for example.
Practical features
This little e-reader comes with 16GB of storage, which is double the old version. It will therefore be able to store a greater quantity of books in digital format, around 35,000 ebooks, according to the brand. You can download them via Wi-Fi from the brand’s catalog, without going through your computer. Ebook formats (Epub, Epub3, PDF, etc.) and images are indeed present, as are digital comics formats CBR and CBZ.
Latest news: the Kindle now has a USB-C connector for charging and data transfer. Moreover, autonomy has been improved. According to Amazon, the e-reader can last up to 6 weeks on one charge.
