On Thursday, January 12, the draw for the Australian Open took place.
In the main draw of the women’s tournament, Ukraine will be represented by five tennis players, in the men’s – by one. According to the rating, Angelina Kalinina, Marta Kostyuk, Katerina Beindl and Dayana Yastremskaya went to the base.
Lesya Tsurenko and Alexey Krutykh made it through the qualification, their opponents will be announced a bit later.
Angelina Kalinina (No. 40 WTA) at the start of the competition will fight against the winner of the qualification.
Marta Kostyuk (No. 59 WTA) will begin the competition with a meeting with 28 seeded Amanda Anisimova from the USA (No. 29 WTA).
Kateryna Bindl (No. 97 WTA) in the first round will face off against Kamilla Rakhimova (No. 110 WTA).
Diana Yastremskaya (No. 80 WTA) starts the match against 17th seed Alyona Ostapenko from Latvia (No. 18 WTA).
