Ampere Analysis analysts conducted a study to identify the “major console” players in the UK market. The study was conducted in the 4th quarter of 2022, they asked the players to decide which consoles are “main” for them, that is, which consoles they use most often. The results can be seen below – 71% for the Playstation 5, while the version with a drive. And closes the rating of Xbox Series S.
As analysts note, most gamers own several consoles, so it is important to single out their “main” consoles. The “major” consoles, in most cases, account for most of the monetization, that is, on them the players buy games more often.
It is worth noting that the proportion of Xbox Series X | S and Playstation 5 have grown strongly over the past year (you can also see last year’s results in the infographic above). At the same time, the share of the Playstation 4 fell sharply (from 64% to 54%), but the share of Xbox One / Xbox One S remained at about the same level – about 50%.
