01/13/2023 at 19:30 by Susanne Braun – The developers of the MMO shooter Destiny 2 have not only revealed when the Grandmaster Dawn strikes will be available in Season 19, but also that there are some changes to the power level requirements are. The background is preparations for the upcoming season 20 with the release of Destiny 2: Lightfall.
Grandmaster Dawn is one of the toughest challenges a Guardian can face in MMO shooter Destiny 2. The power level requirements to enter the strikes are high and the enemies in the twilight strikes will hit you like an unrestrained Shinkansen at 320 kph. But precisely because the grandmaster content is so tricky, players love it – at least those who dare to take it.
It’s that time again on January 17, 2023, when the Grandmaster Nightfall Strikes will be available again. On top of that, the folks at Bungie point out that Iron Banner will be back on the menu on January 31, 2023, and that the final week of Season 19 will start on February 21, 2023.
Power level requirements in Grandmaster Dawns
Along with the schedule, the developers also announced that there are adjustments to the power level requirement for Grandmaster’s Dawn; “as a small preview of some of the changes Grandmaster Dawns will see in Lightfall,” they explain. With the Grandmasters starting January 17, 2023, the power level requirements will change as follows:
The power level required to enter Grandmaster has been reduced by 25 to 1580 (the power soft cap). The overall power level of Grandmaster activities has been reduced by 10 to 1620. The current power level differential of -25 (all enemies are at least 25 power levels above you) is still valid.

2022 was actually a pretty awesome year for MMO fans (column)
2022 was a surprisingly strong year for MMO fans thanks to Lost Ark, Dragonflight, WotLK Classic, End of Dragons and more. What is your highlight?
Shinkansen. You understand. In concrete terms, this means that you can take part in a grandmaster activity with a power level of 1580, but the opponents are then 40 power levels above you. Wardens with a Seasonal Artifact, or the levels and pinnacle rewards they collect with it, can take their Power level up to 1595, the maximum effectiveness. Furthermore, the Bungista are already announcing that there will be further changes to Grandmaster’s Dawn and other high-difficulty activities. You can read about it in the TWAB of January 12, 2023.
