A leak recently swept the internet, which also made it into our rumor mill. After all, a previously unofficially announced sci-fi shooter is said to be in development for Sony. Specifically, a short gameplay excerpt, which is said to come from this project, was published in “IconEra” form. According to the leaker, the XDev team based at Sony is also working on the game. This work should be done together with an external studio.
Who is behind the shooter?
The notes to the short clip do mention Unreal Engine 5 and RPG elements for the game, but no other studio. But after some people in the forum saw the term “RED” in the video below right, speculation began. After all, a project with the same code name is currently in production at People Can Fly.
People Can Fly is a Warsaw-based studio that has developed titles like Bulletstorm and Gears of War: Judgment in the past. The fact that the gameplay of the clip is in the category of third-person shooters also fits the thesis. However, the leak has not yet been confirmed by Sony or People Can Fly. The only official thing is that there is a “Project RED”. On the other hand, it is not official that we saw exactly this project in the clip.
