The Callisto Protocol was released on Friday December 2nd, 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The dark and terrifying survival horror shooter with a sci-fi setting from the former creators of the cult classic Dead Space scored with stunning graphics and interesting gameplay elements. For example, it is possible to strategically dismember the zombie-like mutant opponents. And the character of the player can also get it badly. The Japanese release of The Callisto Protocol was canceled due to the violence in the game, but in Germany the title was released 100 percent uncut.
The Callisto Protocol cannot completely convince

However, the technical problems of the PC version led to a significant devaluation. However, the ratings differed extremely widely around the world. In addition to some top marks, downright devastating judgments were also made. This unsettles gamers who find out about the quality of the gaming experience before buying the full-price title.
Due to the many bad ratings, the publisher Krafton’s stock plummeted. Several patches that have already been released, which, for example, fixed the worst technical problems on the PC and provided a more dynamic combat system, obviously could not turn things around.
The Callisto Protocol: Analysts predict flop
One month after the game’s release, analysts from Samsung Securities came to the conclusion that The Callisto Protocol (buy now €150.88) will not even reach half of the targeted sales figures. According to analysts, publisher Krafton will not be able to sell 5 million copies. Apparently it will be difficult to break the 2 million units mark in the current year. The verdict from Korea Investments & Securities is not quite as gloomy, but still sobering. Here it was assumed that 4 million games would be sold in 2023. The number has since been revised down to 2.1 million units.
