The games in the series Marvel’s Spider-Man by Insomniac Games are among the best video game adaptations ever made of the character created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Nonetheless, they failed to impose the face of their Peter Parker in the collective imagination, which the most nostalgic still imagine as Tobey Maguire.
A modder then tried to please fans of Sam Raimi’s character by introducing the face of Tobey Maguire in the PC version of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, clearly via a mod. It’s called “Play As Tobey Maguire V2” and includes five outfits from the early 2000s film trilogy. As you can see in the gameplay footage attached at the top of this news, Maguire’s character is devoid of facial animations (we’re still speaking of an amateur work), however we are sure that fans of those films will be able to appreciate it, perhaps pairing it with Human Spider, another mod that introduces the Human Spider costume, the first name chosen by Maguire’s Peter Parker, then changed to Spider-Man by the announcer of the wrestling match. Staying on the Raimi theme, we point out that there is also a mod that replaces Norman Osborn’s video game character with the likeness of actor Willem Defoewhich in this way can be observed within the cutscenes.
