In a recent interview, Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann spoke about the upcoming multiplayer game set in The Last of Us universe. It is said to be the “most ambitious project” the studio has ever done.
Not much is known about the upcoming multiplayer project for The Last of Us. In June 2022 Naughty Dog confirmedto work on a standalone multiplayer title. Completely new characters and a completely new location are to appear in the game.
In an interview, Neil Druckmann, co-president of Naughty Dog, stated that the game should be the “most ambitious project” to date. The studio is said to have been working on the title for quite a while.
Multiplayer is intended to expand the world of “The Last of Us”.
When announcing the multiplayer project, Druckmann stated that the game should be the size of the single-player adventure and keep users busy for the long term. According to a job ad that surfaced last October, the game could be playable for free and finance themselves through microtransactions, for example. The developers would have started work even before “The Last of Us Part 2” was released.
