Delivery of fighters is expected in the spring.
It is no secret that earlier Russia carefully developed relations with Iran, fearing that it would fall under secondary sanctions from the West. Now that Russia itself has been slapped with so-called sanctions several times worse than Iran, there is nothing holding back the two countries from cooperation, and it is developing at an accelerated pace. In particular, Moscow and Tehran are actively cooperating within the framework of the military industry: only the lazy have not heard about the Iranian Shaheeds, which are used in the course of a special military operation, but Russia, in turn, will provide Iran with its modern multifunctional Su-35 generation fighters 4++.
Information about the upcoming deliveries of the Su-35 to Iran appeared in December last year, but today a member of the National Security Commission of the Iranian Majlis Shahriyar Heydari confirmed this information in an interview with the Iranian edition of Tasnim. According to Mr. Heidari, the batch of Su-35 fighters will be delivered at the beginning of the year according to the Iranian calendar, or after March 21 this year according to the usual calendar.
In addition, Heidari specified that Iran also ordered a whole range of military equipment from Russia, including air defense systems, missiles and helicopters, most of which will be transferred to Iran “soon.”

Recall that the 4++ generation means that the aircraft belonging to it correspond in all respects to the fifth generation, with the exception of stealth requirements. Su-35s were put into service in Russia in 2014. Thus, the Su-35 is, in fact, one of the most modern aircraft in the Russian aerospace forces, with the exception of the Su-57, which are still represented in the troops in small quantities.
