The device ranked only 91st in the global battery rating, and only 19th in the ultra-premium ranking.
DxOMark experts have already tested the camera, display and audio capabilities of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 foldable smartphone, and now they got to its battery. The autonomy of the device was tested in various usage scenarios, and the efficiency of its charging was also evaluated.
Recall that the Korean “clamshell” received a battery with a capacity of 4400 mAh. There is support for 25W fast charging. Testing took place a model with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of permanent memory. The tests were carried out as close as possible to the user experience, that is, for example, calls were answered from the external display, and photos were scrolled through on the internal one.
During the study, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 was also compared with its predecessor Galaxy Z Fold3, which it outperformed in autonomy in all scenarios except for navigation, and the “ultra” flagship Galaxy S22 Ultra, which it managed to surpass only in the duration of surfing on social networks. Of the pluses, DxOMark experts noted uniform discharge and relatively good autonomy, and of the minuses – the consumption of 3 percent of the battery capacity per night, the rapid loss of charge during navigation, video recording and taking photos.
The charging speed also leaves much to be desired. As a result, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 ranked only 91st in the global battery rating, and only 19th in the ultra-premium ranking.
