A gigantic TV can bring a lot of joy, but with the size, safe installation becomes more and more of a problem. It is precisely this that is allegedly problematic with some Nanocell models from LG: In the USA, some corresponding models with an 86″ (218 cm) screen diagonal and a weight of almost 46 kg are being recalled. According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the background is an unstable one state of the devices.

According to this, the authority has had 22 reports of instability so far – and 12 times televisions have even tipped over. Devices with the model numbers 86UQ8000AUB, 86UQ7070ZUD, 86UQ7590PUD and 86NANO75UQA are affected. The corresponding serial numbers start with 202RM to 208RM.
According to the CPSC, affected models were all sold in America: approximately 52,000 in the US, 2,900 in Mexico and 1,800 in Canada. Customers are advised to place the TVs in a safe place without a stand and contact LG immediately. A return of the huge television is apparently not planned. According to the CPSC, the Nanocell televisions should instead be examined and, if necessary, equipped with a new stand.

According to LG, there is no problem with this at all. According to a statement to the Digital Trends website, while the large Nanocell TVs can indeed fall over, the company blames improper assembly. Accordingly, there can be a stability problem in particular if the three screws per stand are not fully tightened, or if some were left out during assembly.
