Does your CPU cough a little when opening Photoshop? It is surely time to change it and good news, Amazon is lowering the price of the Ryzen 5700G and 5800X3D to 219.90 and 350.11 euros respectively.
In the world of all-terrain processors with controlled performance-price ratios, AMD has clearly taken the tangent against its rival Intel for a few years now. The change of generation also tends to radically lower the prices of the old one and it is clearly the time to take advantage of it during the sales, especially at Amazon. The Ryzen 7 5700G and the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, two CPUs intended for different audiences, are on sale with significant price reductions.
The highlights of Ryzen 7 5700G
Office performance Performance for video games (with a graphics card) Controlled power consumption Compatible with AM4 motherboards
The highlights of Ryzen 7 5800X3D
Gaming performance better than 5800X thanks to 3D V-cache Performance in creative and productivity applications Price-performance ratio Best CPU for gaming under AM4
The AMD Ryzen 7 5700G processor is usually at 355 euros and the 5800X close to 400 euros. They are found during the sales at 219.90 and 350.11 euros respectively on Amazon.
Ryzen 7 5700G: a CPU very comfortable in office automation
The 7 5700G is one of the latest 4th generation Ryzen CPUs. It is distinguished above all by the integration of a Vega 8 graphics processor allowing very practical use in a small but very solid office machine. Be careful, however, if you plan to play entirely on this single CPU, the performance may be a bit tight for playing slightly more advanced AAA titles. It must be said that with its 8 cores with SMT, and therefore 16 threads on the counter, it has enough to offer an ultra-fluid experience, even with a maximum of programs simultaneously. Its base frequency is 3.8 GHz and it is possible to reach 4.6 GHz with Boost mode. In addition, its power consumption, unlike the more advanced Ryzen, is very largely controlled with a thermal envelope of only 65 W. Combining it with a real GPU, it doesn’t quite turn into a great CPU in a well-priced gaming machine.
Ryzen 7 5800X3D: The 3D V-cache adds a layer
If the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X has frankly been one of the brand’s bestsellers for two years now, it is undoubtedly because it is one of the CPUs with the best performance-price ratio of its generation. The Ryzen 7 5800X3D comes to press the accelerator again, especially for video games, thanks to the integration of a 3D vertical cache technology made by AMD. At an equivalent configuration, this will have the effect of adding often significant performance for the most resource-intensive games, in particular thanks to its 96 MB of L3 cache (32 MB for the classic Ryzen 7 5800X).
As for the other figures, we still have the right to 8 cores and 16 threads, and a base frequency of 3.4 GHz and up to 4.5 GHz Max Boost mode. Suffice to say that it will have no trouble in heavy tasks such as coding, editing or the most advanced creative applications in 2D or 3D.
On the other hand, with a TDP of 105 W, efficient cooling will be necessary, the basic cooler may be a little tight.
